Help with LAWN

Getting Started

LAWN can be a great tool if you know how to use it. We want to make sure you receive the help you need getting setup to use the service. We have a variety of ways to help. Before you try and configure your device to use LAWN, check out the requirements listed to below to make sure you have all you need to successfully use LAWN. If you are a visitor to campus and need wireless access, you might need to use FASTPASS.

Requirements for connecting to the LAWN:
Access to a web browser or web client with 128-bit SSL encryption ----- Not Sure?
Active GT account username and password ----- Not Sure?
  For Wireless:
  Device with 802.11b or 802.11g radio (802.11a available in some locations) ----- Not Sure?
  WEP encryption key for LAWN ----- Not Sure?
  For Walkup Port:
  Device with 10Mbit or 10/100Mbit ethernet network port
  CAT-5 ethernet cable

System Diagram - Get a high level look at the wireless system.

LAWN Coverage - Go to our map or locations page to see if you should be getting a signal in your location. You can also go to our Coverage Forum and post a comment regarding coverage issues.

Radio(Card) Compatibility - Do I have the right wireless radio card for my device?
