The Georgia Tech LAWN (Local Area Walkup & Wireless Network) is
designed for students, faculty, staff, and
institute guests
who are mobile computer users. Mobile users may have wireless-enabled
laptop computers, PDAs, or similar devices. The LAWN gives mobile users
access to many of the same computing resources available to them from
a campus office or student residence hall.
Most buildings on
campus are wireless (Wi-Fi) hot spots.
Some campus locations, the library for example, also provide wired
(10/100 ethernet) LAWN ports.
A growing number of buildings provide commercial wireless network
access
(FASTPASS) for campus visitors in
addition to LAWN.
