This is an update on the transition from FASTPASS to GTvisitor for commercial Internet access on the campus.
As scheduled, on Monday, April 5th, 2010 the Georgia Tech Hotel transitioned from FASTPASS to GTvisitor. As a result, Hotel visitors no longer use the FASTPASS network. There are two notable changes as a result of this transition, the first is that all hotel room nights now include Internet access through GTvisitor. The second is that a GTvisitor account is required for both wired and wireless access within the Hotel.
The next phase of the transition will occur on the morning of Monday May 10th. We will remove the FASTPASS wireless network from the network available on campus and in the Hotel, and we will convert all of the wired FASTPASS ports on campus to the GTvisitor network.
Work continues on the Event Management Portal, with a current target for availability early this summer. Until then, event hosts should continue to use the methods below to exchange FASTPASS passes or to purchase new GTvisitor access. The deadline to exchange FASTPASS passes is June 30th, 2010.
