LAWN login and website go live!

The LAWN login officially transitioned to the new authentication page on Monday August 16, 2004 at 9:15am EDT. LAWN authentication was unavailable during the transition from 9:05am to 9:15am EDT. At the same time, the new LAWN website went live and is now available at: http://www.lawn.gatech.edu/

The new login page offers the following features:

• Single page access - no need to click on a "login" button to be taken to a login form (note: JavaScript required for single page access; a login link will still appear if your browser does not support JavaScript).
• Improved cache control - less likely to present you the LAWN login erroneously after you log in
• Password reset - if your GT Account password has expired, you may change it via the OIT GT Account Password Change Form prior to logging into LAWN
• LAWN status - information about the health of the LAWN network and systems
• News and Outages - list of recent news articles relating to LAWN and any upcoming LAWN services outages
• Link to LAWN website - access the LAWN website prior to logging into LAWN
• New look and feel - a nifty new LAWN logo and color scheme
• Support for command-line/automated authentication - including login status and logout commands (details here).

The new LAWN website improvements include:

• Consolidated source of information about the LAWN
• Location independent - the same content is available from inside or outside of the LAWN, and is available without logging in to the LAWN
• Improved documentation including:
  • System Overview with diagrams
  • Updated getting started help
  • Security and Policy documentation and links
  • Updated coverage map and locations database
